Before Your First Visit

Do I need a medical referral? expand_more
In most cases, no. Michigan allows direct access to chiropractic care without a referral from a primary care physician. However, some specific insurance plans might require one, which we can verify for you during booking.
Will an adjustment hurt if I'm already in pain? expand_more
Adjustments are generally comfortable. If you are in acute pain, we modify our techniques to be extremely gentle, often using specialized tables or instruments rather than manual force to ensure your comfort.
Can you help with nerve pain like sciatica? expand_more
Yes. Nerve pain, particularly sciatica, is often caused by spinal misalignment or disc pressure. We specialize in non-surgical decompression and targeted adjustments designed to relieve pressure on the nervous system.
How long is the initial exam? expand_more
Your first visit typically lasts 45 to 60 minutes. This allows ample time for a comprehensive consultation, physical examination, any necessary imaging, and a discussion of your preliminary findings.
What should I wear to my appointment? expand_more
Please wear loose, comfortable clothing that allows for a full range of motion. Athletic wear or casual clothing is perfectly acceptable.

About Care

Am I too old/young for chiropractic care? expand_more
Chiropractic care is safe for all ages, from infants to seniors. We tailor our approach completely based on your age, bone density, and specific health conditions.
Will I have to keep coming back forever? expand_more
No. Our goal is always to get you out of pain and stable as efficiently as possible. While many patients choose occasional maintenance care to prevent future issues, the decision to continue care is always yours.
Why do I feel sore after an adjustment? expand_more
Mild soreness is common, similar to how you might feel after a new workout. This is simply your muscles and ligaments adapting to a proper, healthier alignment.
Do you only treat the spine? expand_more
While the spine is our foundation, we treat the entire musculoskeletal system. We frequently help patients with shoulder, knee, ankle, and wrist pain, as well as headaches and TMJ issues.
How quickly will I see results? expand_more
Response times vary depending on the severity and duration of the issue. Many patients report some relief after their first or second visit, while chronic conditions require a more sustained treatment plan to see lasting change.

Scheduling and Payments

What is your cancellation policy? expand_more
We request at least 24 hours' notice for cancellations. This allows us to offer the appointment time to another patient who may be in pain. Late cancellations may be subject to a fee.
Do you accept my insurance? expand_more
We are in-network with several major providers and offer complimentary benefits checks prior to your first appointment so there are no financial surprises.
Can I use my HSA/FSA account? expand_more
Yes, chiropractic care and related therapies are eligible expenses under most Health Savings Account (HSA) and Flexible Spending Account (FSA) plans. We can provide itemized receipts if required.
